Update and Prayer Requests

5 05 2012

Things are picking up steam as we get closer to moving to Hawaii!  I want to share some prayer requests with you:

1)  On Monday we are going to Hawaii for a few days.  This is an exciting trip as Sam and Caleb get to come this time.  We are all looking forward to scouting out the area, getting some ideas about where to live, and so on.  We also hope to do some prayer walking in Ewa Beach.

Meanwhile, we are also meeting with folks from our partner church, the Oahu Baptist Network, and the North American Mission Board in order to nail down the details of our work with them.  We’ll also be sharing our vision with Ben and Shauna Pilgreen, church planters in San Francisco, and exploring ways we can partner together.  Please pray for our safe travels and that the Lord continues to reveal his plan for this church plant.  Pray that we have productive meetings and come away from this week with sure footing for the upcoming move.
2)  Please pray as we continue to raise support for our church plant.  Currently we have 32% of our first year budget raised.  We are on track to move in July, but we need to see more support come in.  Please pray that the Lord provides.

If you have committed to giving monthly, please remember to give for the month of May.  If you are interested in giving monthly or one-time send that donation to:
Missions Office
Second Baptist Church
3111 E Battlefield Rd
Springfield, MO  65804
Your prayers, encouragement, and support have been a tremendous blessing to us thus far!

3)  Please pray for Caleb.  Naturally, he is nervous about leaving what he knows and moving to a new place.  Please pray that the Lord will provide great friends, teachers, and coaches to make his new home a great place!
